Some Encouragement During this Difficult Time

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

-Edward Mote (1797-1874)

Who would have known in February that our lives would change so drastically in March. Who would have known that we would be rationing our food stash, our disinfecting supplies, and our toilet paper. Who would have known that many of us are wondering if we can pay our next set of bills. Who would have known that businesses would completely shut down and that we would be asked to stay home until…God knew.

So as we are living in a world that is hoping in hand-sanitizer and masks, where is your hope? Is it in Christ or in anything else? Stand on the Solid Rock, Jesus Christ, in the midst of this storm.
